This is a classic with a variety of different sections:
The Thrombosis section
Low volume creeking and offers you a chance to run a really fun and safe 8m waterfall.
The waterfall section
This is a short run but is great for practicing your waterfall running skills ,two super fun waterfalls await you on this section (Highest being 5-6 m) both landing in big pools.
Oribi gorge section
Depending on water levels this section is normally a big volume run.
40km (Over nighter)
One of the most spectacular gorges in South Africa its like paddling through a scene from Jurassic park ,with spectacular cliff walls and untouched nature.
Super fun low volume run made up of small waterfalls and slides.
30km (Over nighter)
This is another classic big bolder garden run. Ranging from continuous to pool drop , 2 days of pure fun surrounded by spectacular nature.
How much fun can one have in one day? River runs through a breathtaking gorge mostly pool drop but has some continuous parts.
This river a true Transkei classic ,a short but busy run. Walking distance from the backpackers ,this is normally a early morning or late afternoon run. On higher water levels it becomes more demanding.
This is probably one of the best rivers in the Transkei area. It runs trough a breath taking gorge nice continuous rapids everything is just pure fun and for those of you keen on running bigger waterfalls this section has 2 waterfalls. The first one is about 15-18m supper clean lead in with a big pool at the bottom and the second one is about 12m.
This section is way up in the drakensberg mountains and to get there you drive the highest mountain pass in south Africa 3000m. The run is super short but really fun with about 5 drops in 1 kilometre the last drop is the highest (about 8m).
The trip takes place on Class 4 whitewater. It is suitable for experienced paddlers who are comfortable to paddle for 4 – 6 hours a day on Class 4. This trip begins on easier sections of whitewater, but will become more demanding as the trip progresses.
